my little 4V carburetor woke up my stock V8 engine. i was just wondering what difference a short, 4 hole spacer, or an open (1 big hole) spacer (1/2 to 3/4 depth) would make?
i have both. i havent actually measured how thick they are. those were estimates. i think the big open holed spacer would possibly help the top end. but it might rob me on the low end.
im likely to try the shallow 4 hole spacer.
maybe its good for both torque and top end power.

the carb is an edelbrock 500, on a relatively stock engine.
what spacer profiles do what? and what should i expect in conjunction with my application?

thanks

...Can't say what the spacers will do. Just try each one and see if one is more satisfactory.
...Happy to see you using the 500 cfm carb and not trying to use a larger one. The smaller one gives better throttle response. ...These engines just barely use 500 cfm of air at 6000 rpm and you are most likly not even revving that high. Perfect match for the street.
Good luck, Ken
